Walden, Ashworth & Associates, Inc. (WA&A), a Georgia Corporation, is a multi‑discipline consulting firm offering professional services in Engineering and Planning.  The Marietta, Georgia firm was established in November of 1981 by Martin L. Walden and the late Steven L. Ashworth. In November of 2021, James Hardin and Jason Rapplean became the owners of the company with Martin remaining with the company as its chief engineer.

From its beginning Walden, Ashworth & Associates, Inc.’s engineering and planning practice has been based on providing quality services while meeting the client’s time and cost budgets.  Our experienced staff offers engineering services lead by business-oriented management in seeking the most cost-effective design compatible with project requirements.  For over four decades, Walden, Ashworth & Associates, Inc. has provided a full range of engineering services to private owners, homeowners associations, industry, commercial and residential developers and state and local governments.  The firm’s professional practice includes planning and design of facilities in the following areas: water resources, recreation, amusement, municipal, transportation, environmental, industrial, commercial and land development.

Our staff of professional and technical support specialists is skilled in the planning and design of high and low hazard dams and other water resources projects, site development, roadways, public fishing areas, fish hatchery improvements, wastewater collection systems, water distribution systems and drainage facilities. Our staffing allows the firm to offer single-source responsibility for assignments ranging from small studies to multi-million dollar projects.  Walden, Ashworth & Associates, Inc. has two engineers approved by the Georgia Safe Dams Program as Engineers of Record, Jason Rapplean and Martin L. Walden, who was the first engineer approved as a Civil (Hydrology/Hydraulics) Engineer of Record. 

Walden, Ashworth & Associates, Inc. has provided high quality consulting engineering services for both the private and public sector in Georgia and the surrounding states for over forty-one (41) years.  Throughout the history of our firm, our understanding has been, that in order to best serve our clients, we must find a design that not only “works” but one that is also the most cost effective.  We have established an excellent working relationship with our clients, the permitting agencies involved, as well as, the contractors constructing the projects.  This fact is demonstrated by the number of clients that have returned to us for design of additional projects including several agencies of the State of Georgia such as the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Georgia State Finance & Investment Commission and the Georgia Department of Corrections.
